Nollywood actress Moyo Lawal in a recent interview with PUNCH talked about her background, her challenges in life and her dream man.
Read the excerpts below:
I come from a warm and loving family. I had a decent upbringing that contributed to who I am today.
I attended Tomobid School, Lagos, for my primary education. For my post-elementary education, I attended Lagos State Model College, Kankon. I studied for a diploma in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management at the Lagos State University, Ojo. After that, I studied Creative Arts at the University of Lagos.
I didn’t set out to become an actress. When I was an undergraduate, a guy told me that I looked 16. He suggested that I attend a reading. I went for the reading and I was picked to play a role in Shallow Waters, which turned out to be the first production I took part in.
There are a lot of people on social media who have the wrong perception about me. It is also hard to schedule my time to accommodate family and friends because acting almost always keeps me busy. I have missed a lot of important family events because of this.
I am an introvert and people also say that I’m funny. If I wasn’t an actress, I would have been a therapist because I love advising people. I’m very good at keeping secrets and whatever you tell me is safe with me. I also sing, and I may still become a singer someday. The bottom line is that I like making people happy.
